Biosecurity Begins with Trouw Nutrition as your Feed Supplier

Biosecurity is a form of risk management for disease-causing organisms which can impact the health of animals and even humans. Examples of viral disease outbreaks: foot and mouth disease (FMD), Newcastle disease, Avian influenza, Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) and African swine fever (ASF)).

Trouw Nutrition takes biosecurity seriously and has implemented both normal and heightened biosecurity standards to protect our customer’s farm and their livelihood. Minimum requirements have been set within these core areas:

  • Manufacturing sites: cleaning, sanitation and pest control programs, good manufacturing practices, visitor policy, supplier approval program
  • Feed Delivery: routing, exposure on farm, sanitation & personal protective equipment (PPE) kits
  • Customer Visits: exposure on farm, vehicle sanitation, personal protective equipment (PPE)

Heightened biosecurity standards will be implemented when there has been an outbreak of infectious disease in the area serviced. Minimum requirements include: sanitizer foot baths, restricted visitor access, increased requirements for truck sanitation and personal when on farm.

Our team is annually trained by qualified personal to raise biosecurity awareness, ensure compliance to our standards, but most importantly to protect North America’s farm industry and our customers animals.
