Trouw Nutrition is leading the way in phytotechnology with the opening of the Nutreco Garden of the Future on June 6th, 2024 in Thurgau, Switzerland.
Pioneering plant-based solutions for the feed industry
Nutreco is the parent company of Trouw Nutrition and has invested in the ground-breaking research conducted at this facility to bring fresh perspectives to the feed industry, allowing for the development of new and innovative products and solutions. Activities performed at the Garden of the Future include screening plant candidates, designing biological modelling, analyzing plant chemotype, developing growing protocols, and processing plants for use as feed additives or feed materials.

Our focus with phytogenic feed additives is providing science-based solutions that support the host animals natural defense mechanisms, as well as robust physiological functions in all types of conditions. Trouw Nutrition Canada introduced the first of the phytotechnology products, Synerco™ into the Canadian poultry market in September 2023. To confirm the benefits to producers Trouw Nutrition Canada investigated Synerco’s effects in broiler chickens in a commercial research facility in British Columbia. The results of this validation research confirm that using Synerco in broiler production leads to improved animal performance, feed efficiency and economic returns for the producer when incorporated into a feeding program.
