Trouw Nutrition proudly maintains certifications under internationally recognized feed standards. Our facilities undergo regular third-party audits, reinforcing our strong foundation in quality management and supporting our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
Our commitment to quality starts with evaluating raw materials, manufacturers, and suppliers. We use only those raw materials which meet our strict standards to ensure that only healthy, safe and sustainable raw materials are used in the production of Trouw Nutrition products.
We safeguard feed quality through a comprehensive monitoring program that covers both raw materials and our finished products. Leveraging the strength of our global organization, we actively participate in the Rapid Alert System, enabling early identification and communication of potential raw material risks across our network. Only approved laboratories are used for testing, and all analytical data is securely managed within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
We ensure professional risk management practices are in place to prevent and effectively respond to customer complaints and emergencies. This includes a structured Feed Safety and Quality Crisis Management system, supported by root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize risk and manage unexpected situations with precision and accountability.
We enable efficient information flow across the entire value chain from sourcing to final product delivery by leveraging a rapid upstream and downstream data system. This real-time exchange of information is critical for supporting our dynamic recall systems and ensuring swift and accurate responses.
By clearly understanding our customers' needs, we can proactively identify potential biological, chemical, and physical hazards, and implement targeted control measures to effectively mitigate the risk.
Receiving raw materials is a critical point in our process. That’s why Trouw Nutrition has developed a dedicated Receiver Training Program. This comprehensive set of procedures, guidelines, and specifications are designed to mitigate the risk of hazards during raw material intake.
Receivers—our Gatekeepers of the Mill—are trained to quickly assess whether incoming ingredients meet quality standards. All loads are inspected, and those that fail to meet specifications are rejected.
Additional analyses by approved laboratories are often required, based on the annual Ingredient Risk Assessment. This assessment considers raw material risk, control trends, origin, and supplier performance. Testing includes nutritional verification and screening for contaminants such as microbes, pesticides, dioxins, peroxides, and heavy metals.
Each Trouw Nutrition site is supported by a dedicated Quality Assurance Manager leading a multi-disciplinary Feed Safety Team. This team is responsible for systematically identifying, evaluating and controlling feed safety hazards throughout the production process.
